Buckley Industrial Explore a New Joint-Venture

Buckley Industrial is a supplier of stainless steel hose products, hose assemblies and much more, but they also provide a number of hose testing services including helium and hydrostatic testing. They were established in 1990 and have since gone from strength to strength.

Buckley Industrial is involved in a number of industries including Power Generation, Aeroderivative Engines, Heavy Duty Gas Turbines, Marine & Offshore, Chemical, Food Processing, Utilities and Pharmaceutical. Due to the investment in resources and technically advanced equipment in the hose inspection and testing field, their business has enjoyed steady growth.

The Founder and Managing Director Steve Dransfield, started out as a sole trader but converted to a Limited Company, and are soon to celebrate 25 years in the business. After making a name for them in the UK, Buckley Industrial began to look for opportunities in Europe and soon started to gain experience in the export market.

The Welsh Government has provided a lot of support to the company and the help they have received to date has enabled them to explore opportunities further afield. To start their new journey, Buckley Industrial sent a dedicated team on a trade mission to Vietnam to look more closely at a number of markets in the Far and Middle East.

The team have been working closely with a contact of the Welsh Government who is based in Dubai, and they are now looking to set up a joint-venture company to serve customers working in specialist markets in the Middle East.

The Found, Steve Dransfield spoke about this new venture and explained, “Since we have enjoyed success in export markets our focus have been very much on the high-quality, high-end of the market and industries where efficiency and safety are paramount.

“Some of our work with overseas customers, particularly in offshore environments where specialist design and testing is requires, has led us into new area that we can now explore with other customers in different territories. In many of the countries where we do business, particularly in the Far East, there is a huge emphasis places on personal contact.


“The support that we’ve received from the Welsh Government has been invaluable, not only in building and maintaining important business relationships but also in researching and accessing new export markets. It has really given us the confidence to continue looking for new export opportunities.”
