out as a sole trader but converted to a Limited Company, and are soon to
celebrate 25 years in the business. After making a name for them in the UK,
Buckley Industrial began to look for opportunities in Europe and soon started
to gain experience in the export market.
The Welsh Government has provided a lot of support to the
company and the help they have received to date has enabled them to explore
opportunities further afield. To start their new journey, Buckley Industrial
sent a dedicated team on a trade mission to Vietnam to look more closely at a
number of markets in the Far and Middle East.
The team have been working closely with a contact of the
Welsh Government who is based in Dubai, and they are now looking to set up a
joint-venture company to serve customers working in specialist markets in the
Middle East.
The Found, Steve Dransfield spoke about this new venture and
explained, “Since we have enjoyed success in export markets our focus have been
very much on the high-quality, high-end of the market and industries where
efficiency and safety are paramount.
“Some of our work with overseas customers, particularly in
offshore environments where specialist design and testing is requires, has led
us into new area that we can now explore with other customers in different
territories. In many of the countries where we do business, particularly in the
Far East, there is a huge emphasis places on personal contact.
“The support that we’ve received from the Welsh Government
has been invaluable, not only in building and maintaining important business
relationships but also in researching and accessing new export markets. It has
really given us the confidence to continue looking for new export
opportunities.”
